I am thrilled to announce the arrival of a 1.5 pound, not-so-baby book, on the 22nd January 2020. It's been eight years in the making, so it was wonderful to finally hold it in my hands! I received it in total silence, since it arrived just three hours after I'd had a voice operation, which was crazy timing but also felt rather appropriate – just as I lost my voice, I gained another! Sitopia is a follow-up to my first book, Hungry City, which you can just see sitting on the piano in the next room. Where Hungry City explained how food shapes our lives, this book asks how we can use food to shape better ones. I consciously wrote Sitopia as a companion book to Hungry City – you don't have to have read HC to enjoy Sitopia, and if you have read HC, there will hopefully not be too much sense of deja vu! Hungry City was pretty wide in scope, but this book is much bigger, exploring pretty much every aspect of our lives through the lens of food. I really hope that you read it – and enjoy it!
